Dr. Neil Narendra Trivedi is a senior consultant urologist with 25 years of specialist practice spanning andrology, minimal access surgery, kidney transplantation, uro-oncology, paediatric urology, and stone disease. He is currently Senior Consultant Urologist at KIMS Institute of Renal Sciences & Advanced Urology, Secunderabad.
After completing MBBS at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad in 1993, Dr. Trivedi trained in general surgery at JJM Medical College, Davangere before pursuing his urology super-specialisation. His MCh in Urology from Seth GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai — one of India's highest-volume and most competitive urology training programmes — placed him among a small group of urologists trained at a centre where complex and rare urological cases from across Maharashtra converge. The depth of exposure at KEM Mumbai shaped his approach to the full spectrum of urological surgery, including reconstructive urology and andrology.
Before joining KIMS Secunderabad, Dr. Trivedi built his consultant career in Mumbai's leading private hospitals — HN Hospital Mumbai, PD Hinduja National Hospital, and RG Stone Urological Research Institute — alongside a period at JJ Hospital Mumbai, before relocating to Hyderabad where he practised at Mahavir Hospital prior to joining KIMS. This career trajectory across high-volume Mumbai institutions gave him a breadth of operative and clinical experience in andrology, stone disease, kidney transplant, and minimally invasive urology that spans two decades of evolving surgical technique.
At KIMS, Dr. Trivedi functions as one of the senior urology consultants with particular focus on andrology (male infertility, erectile dysfunction, paediatric urology), minimally invasive stone surgery (RIRS, ureteroscopy, PCNL), kidney transplantation, and uro-oncology. His andrology practice includes the management of azoospermia — including microsurgical sperm retrieval for IVF/ICSI — male sexual dysfunction, and hypospadias repair and paediatric urological reconstruction.
Andrology is Dr. Trivedi's area of particular subspecialty focus within his broader urology practice. This includes the full evaluation and surgical treatment of male infertility — varicocele repair, azoospermia evaluation, microsurgical sperm retrieval (TESA, PESA, Micro-TESE), and coordination with the fertility team for IVF and ICSI cycles. Erectile dysfunction evaluation and management (PDE5 inhibitors, intracavernosal injection, penile Doppler) and male sexual dysfunction are also within his subspecialty scope.
Paediatric urological conditions including undescended testicles (orchidopexy — open and laparoscopic, including two-stage Fowler-Stephens for intra-abdominal testes), vesicoureteral reflux (VUR — endoscopic injection and laparoscopic reimplantation), hypospadias repair, and congenital obstructive uropathies including UPJ obstruction (pyeloplasty) and posterior urethral valves.
Dr. Trivedi has been involved in kidney transplant recipient and donor surgery as part of the KIMS Renal Sciences transplant programme. This includes living donor nephrectomy (laparoscopic and open), transplant recipient surgery, and management of transplant surgical complications.
Management of urinary tract stone disease using the full range of minimally invasive approaches — ureteroscopy (URSL) for ureteric stones, RIRS for kidney stones, and PCNL for complex or large stones. Dr. Trivedi was one of the early proponents of RIRS in Hyderabad for intrarenal stone disease.
Surgical management of urological malignancies — radical prostatectomy (laparoscopic), radical and partial nephrectomy, radical cystectomy, ureteroscopic management of upper tract urothelial carcinoma, and orchiectomy for testicular cancer — as part of the multidisciplinary KIMS tumour board approach.
Urethral reconstruction for urethral stricture disease — direct vision internal urethrotomy (DVIU) for short strictures, anastomotic urethroplasty for bulbar strictures, and buccal mucosa graft urethroplasty for complex or long-segment disease. Vesicovaginal fistula repair. Bladder diverticulum management. Bladder neck reconstruction.
